“THE SKY IS LITERALLY THE LIMIT FOR THOSE WHO WANT TRULY ONE-OF-A-KIND WHIRLYBIRDS.” It’s long been the goal of rotary-wing aviation companies looking to get a lock on the most lucrative end of the market: design a helicopter that can equal the business jet experience, in all respects. With the new ACH160, and in particular its ACH Exclusive edition, Airbus, the premier global aerospace corporation, has hit the mark. Innovation is built into the DNA of the ACH160, which can transport from four to 10 passengers in pure luxury, with a myriad of configuration and customisation options. Airbus took out no fewer than 68 patents for this single helicopter, which was created in collaboration with award-winning UK superyacht design studio Harrison Eidsgaard. The starting price for the ACH160 in basic trim is…

iconic cockpit

On first impressions, the supercar influence is obvious, with the Icon designers capturing that same modern, sleek profile. When you step inside you’re not overwhelmed by endless buttons, switches and confusing instrumentation in the cockpit. It’s more like the dashboard of a sports car — but with a much more sophisticated GPS navigation system that Google Maps. Able to fold its wings back for storage and transportation, this two-seater only weighs 686 kg thanks to its carbon composite hull. Powering it up to the skies is a pusher-style propellor mounted to a 100 horsepower Rotax engine, which can be fueled using either aviation or servo petrol. Thanks to smart design elements like wing cuffs and vortex generators, the A5 is completely spin-resistant, meaning it won’t spiral out of control — no…

“THIS MACHINE IS MY ROMANCE WITH CLASSIC RACE BIKES MIXED WITH MODERN TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN.” So-called “crotch rockets” are no longer the preferred flavour of motorcycle. A blind man with one ear and no sense of smell could tell you that. Today everything is about café racers. But it was not always so. And I am here to tell you that it will not always be so. And also that it doesn’t even need to be that way right now. Walt Siegl is a man of many talents whom some would argue makes the most beautiful and fantastic hand-built motorcycles available in the USA today. And perhaps even on planet Earth. I would be one of those people. I should also admit that I cut my teeth on crotch rocket superbikes in the…

crown jewels

Stroll through London’s famed Burlington Arcade in the heart of Mayfair, an enclosed array of exclusive shops that has catered to well-dressed gentlemen for over 200 years, and one’s eye cannot help but be drawn to the extraordinary display of watches at the far end hundreds and hundreds of rare Rolexes, each seemingly more valuable than the next. This is The Vintage Watch Company, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, a mecca for Rolex collectors, who include some of the most stylish men on the planet. Want an early “Big Crown” Submariner identical to the one worn by Sean Connery in 1962’s Dr. No? Or the 1970s Explorer II, which legend has it, was worn by Steve McQueen? Or the extremely coveted “Paul Newman” Daytona, made famous by the film…

tempus fusion

Hublot, founded in Switzerland exactly 40 years ago, has grown into one of the world’s most recognisable luxury watch brands, as much a symbol of wealth and achievement as it is of highly innovative watchmaking. Early on the brand, part of the LVMH portfolio since 2008, established its Art of Fusion ethos, merging traditional watchmaking techniques with new materials, such as brightly-coloured ceramics and scratchproof gold, and revolutionising the world of luxury watch design in the process. Over the years it has expanded horological horizons through partnerships with the likes of Ferrari, Formula One, international style icon Lapo Elkann, artist Shepard Fairey and various other creatives and celebrities. And in 2018 it took its first step into the world of hybrid watches, with a connected version of the Big Bang, its…

Sensational photo shoot for your first MAXIM feature, Caitlin, congrats! How do you feel? I feel beyond grateful to be featured in a magazine I have always dreamt about being in. The shoot was all around Huntington Beach in California, USA, and it was all about bringing out my fun, playful personality. Tell us a bit about your background and life story so far. I grew up in a small town in Minnesota, USA, and made a short move to Fargo, North Dakota for school. I currently work at a bar called the Bulldog Tap, teach yoga and I’m also studying for my boards to become a registered nurse. What made you also want to become a fitness model? It was something so far outside of my comfort zone which is what pushed me to…
