build an amazing minecraft town

THREE-STOREY TOWNHOUSE Townhouse buildings are great for making cities, as you can place lots of them close together to create bags of space with a small footprint. Opposite, you can see two styles of townhouse. Both have three storeys, so they look relatively tall and thin compared to a normal house. Window boxes and shades are typical of townhouse designs, and expect to see a small yard instead of a garden. A mixture of brick styles makes the building look decorative without being too elaborate. You can decorate the roof as well. We’ve used iron bars to fence off the top of the roof area, and also to create a TV aerial. Four rails placed in a circle on top of four andesite blocks gives the appearance of an air conditioning unit. Don’t…

realistic minecraft-the shaders guide

WHAT ARE SHADERS? Simply put, shaders change the way Minecraft looks. Most devices can display graphics far more complicated than Minecraft asks of them, so shaders unlock that power. Not all devices can run shaders, though, so while we can tell you how to get them, be aware that they might not work! If you want to try installing shaders, this guide should be enough to get your copy of Minecraft looking better than ever, whether you’re playing on the Bedrock or Java Edition! BEDROCK EDITION STEP ONE: DOWNLOAD SHADERS Installing Bedrock Edition shaders is easy, but whether it works or not will depend heavily on the device you’re using. Bedrock Edition shaders are really just mods that tweak the game’s visuals a little, so they’re not as powerful as a true shader. If you’re playing…

how to build an xp farm

HOW IT WORKS The way a cactus XP farm works is simple: you get XP for smelting a cactus into green dye, and this XP is given when you remove the dye from a furnace. Cactuses can be grown and harvested automatically, so if we can get the cactus blocks into a furnace automatically, all you have to do is turn up and remove the dye for free XP! Here, we’ll show you how you can do that. Remember to note that this is a miniature version to show the basics – to build a true XP farm you’ll want to make one much bigger than this, but we’ll explain as we go on! Remember to build near your base, as the cactuses will only grow while you’re nearby. STEP ONE: BUILD THE…

goats, wardens & more – the latest on caves & cliffs

GOATS This new mob has been added to the Java version after debuting in the experimental Bedrock version! You can find it hanging out on cliffs and mountaintops, where it can jump up extremely steep rockfaces with its powerful legs. As a result of this skill, it also takes a lot less fall damage! Goats spawn in groups of 2-3 and drop horns up to twice if they charge into a solid block. If killed, they drop mutton and experience. They’re also an extra source of milk along side cows and mooshrooms – you can use a bucket on them to get milk the same as with those other mobs. If goats spot a player who hasn’t moved for 10-15 seconds within a 16-block range, they’ll charge and headbutt them for one point…
