As we wrapped up this issue, I had the tremendous honor of standing before Prince William at Buckingham Palace to receive my damehood. It was a day I will remember for the rest of my life. On the morning of the investiture ceremony, I put on a beautiful ensemble: a Valentino dress, Jimmy Choo heels, a Philip Treacy fascinator, and a Gabriela Hearst bag, then reported to the palace, where I learned that I was to be first up in line! As I was presented with my medal and insignia, to the classical tune “All on a Cold Winter’s Night”—an unexpectedly fitting song for a chilly London day in May—I spotted my family and friends watching proudly from special seats, and it made the moment even more perfect.
