welcome friends

The allure of summer is completely different than other seasons. Winter melts its way into spring, and spring beckons us to clean out closets, garages, and attics. Summer is different. Summer is a time to kick off our shoes and run barefoot outside, plan gatherings and parties around celebrations such as anniversaries, weddings, and graduations, and it's a time of creating memories to share over dinners for years to come. This is the season we look to for forging new hobbies, visiting new places, or taking on special projects, such as the miniature dollhouse that awaits my attention in my office. It was a special gift from my mother…six years ago. She had discovered my love of all things miniature and bought me my first do-it-yourself dollhouse, and I anticipated with…

hello summer, let’s celebrate!

My favorite summer day, is to sit in my beach chair, listening to the waves crashing on the shore, while the warm sea air blows over the sand. To me this describes a perfect moment! I have made celebrating these perfect moments a part of my everyday life. Okay, I know every moment in life is not perfect, but I thoroughly believe we can make a little part of everyday living, celebration worthy. Just imagine if we tried to find a little something everyday, a moment that is just for you. or a moment to share with someone special, or perhaps a moment to share with an old, or new friend. Over the last two years we at Heart of Hospitality Magazine have shared with you our large events, and parties, as well as…

diy summer

HOW CAN $20 CHANGE YOUR SUMMER? I'm not sure about everyone else, but for the last two years I have really fine tuned my DIY skills. In the past year from 2020 to 2021, I have been pushing my creative side and forced myself to move most of my projects from my Pinterest board, “things I’ll likely never make” to the board, “I don’t need a man.” There were many successes and even more laughs from failed projects. But, let’s be honest, no one's Instagram is complete without a #PinterestFail post. Since we live in a #GirlsRule generation, this is not about the fails. This is about how I made my summer better this year with $20. If you’re anything like me, then it’s a 50/50 shot that your DIY’s save you money.…

porsche meets posh

Porsche is synonymous with high-performance sports cars with sleek designs, big engines, raw speed, that are made for elite clients. Heart of Hospitality Boutique Parties was thrilled to host the Porsche Women’s Group LA with afternoon tea, fancy hats, and spectacular views. We were invited by organizers, Sara Dakarmen and Deborah Peters, to put together a tea for their Porsche lady friends. Gathering atop one of the skyscraper buildings overlooking the downtown city of Los Angeles…a unique group of women, who love their Porsche sports cars, came to dine on delicacies, sweet treats, and a selection of fine teas. If you haven’t figured it out by now, at Heart of Hospitality, we love to extend hospitality through any means possible, and we have two primary philosophies--entertaining should be fun and…

dive into summer finger foods

Welcome Summer! Summer is my favorite season. I love the warm, beachy weather, picnics, BBQ’s, bonfires and all the wonderful outdoor dining options. It is also a season for more relaxed dining. Many of our warm weather menus call for finger foods. I thought it would be a great time to review some etiquette rules regarding eating with your fingers because, yes, sometimes it is perfectly proper to use your fingers! Foods generally considered as finger foods include: • Barbeque Ribs• Fried chicken, turkey or other fowl on the bone (if served in a casual setting otherwise use a knife and fork)• Small fruit such as grapes, apricots, cherries, strawberries or other berries, apples, bananas, nuts• Pickles• Artichokes• Melon, depending on how it is served• Corn on the Cob• Bacon• French Fries…
