foiling yes it keeps getting better…

LOOKING BACK OVER THE PAST YEARS FROM MY FIRST FLIGHTS ON THE NAISH MALOLO BACK IN SEASON 2017 TO NOW SEASON 2020, I AM SO IMPRESSED AT HOW MUCH FOILING HAS TO OFFER AND I DON’T THINK IT’S SLOWING DOWN ANY TIME SOON. Surfing outer reefs, racing ocean swells, crossing channels and applying multiple power sources from kites, sails and skis has been a magical journey, and I am as excited as ever right now. SO, WHAT HAS CHANGED? There is far more Foilboarders out there now and with some very impressive skills. Aerials are now a common sight amongst the pro’s, multiple linking up of waves is a given, huge crossings are the norm and paddling out is something you do when you stuff up your pump. It feels like the learning curve…

Can you tell us a bit about yourself (where you grew up, where you live, etc..) and what your background has been prior to Stand Up? I was born in Rockhampton, QLD but have lived most of my life on the Gold Coast, QLD and absolutely love it here. Growing up I did lots of sports, but the water sports were always my favourite. I competed in Nippers for most of my childhood, as well as outriggers until Stand Up Paddling When did you start doing Stand Up? Why? How did it go at first? I remember my first time on a Stand Up Paddle board, I was around 10/11 years old, there was a surfing competition on at Currumbin Alley and they had a stand up demo. I got up and instantly…

AGE - 35 || RESIDES - Omaha, New Zealand CAN YOU TELL US WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO SUP AND HOW DID YOU GET YOUR START? There was a local surf shop that was running SUP races on the weekend, it looked like some fun, so I went along one weekend and was hooked. So I brought a race board and that was it!
