Inflation… Interest rates… Cost of living… Our national headlines are full of the stuff, so when news crossed my desk of a hi-fi brand actually reducing the price of its biggest sellers, I thought we should celebrate the occasion. We all know why the economy is in its current state but the first year of Covid had a devastating impact on consumer electronics manufacturing as semiconductor plants in the Far East were shut down. Then, once they re-opened, there was an immediate shortfall in… everything, followed by increases in component prices and a severe hike in the cost of container shipping.
