A Summer State of Mind
A while back, before I had a house with a yard, I lived in a condo conversion carved from the second floor of the old Seagram mansion in Toronto. In those days, our cottage was a log house in Banff, Alta., too far away for weekend visits. In the city, our outdoor space was a lovely stone terrace that you entered through French doors. There, I placed a dining table and chairs under a new tented gazebo and added loungers and pots of herbs and flowers in the sun outside the tent, with a market umbrella for extra shade.
