Picking up the phone, I had a suspicion I knew what the call would be about. ‘I found Audrey mocking me to the rest of the class again,’ her teacher told me down the phone. Let’s just say, it wasn’t the first time it had happened. Despite not speaking until the age of four, Audrey sure enjoyed being the class clown. We could barely get her to stay quiet after she started speaking! ‘You know you shouldn’t do that,’ I’d tell her every time the teacher rang. But as she batted her eyelids, it was hard not to find it funny. From a young age, she knew how to make people laugh and that trait grew with her after she left school.
