More than 200 Attend Northeast Bankruptcy Conference in Newport, R.I.
Practitioners from throughout New England and beyond gathered in Newport, R.I., at the waterfront Newport Marriott July 13-15 for ABI’s annual Northeast Bankruptcy Conference and Consumer Forum. This year’s program offered up to 9 hours of CLE/CPE credit, including up to 3 hours of ethics.
The conference kicked off with an emerging leaders and judges roundtable for up-and-coming new attorneys, followed by an emerging leaders reception and the Opening Reception. Sessions throughout the conference included a plenary session on recent developments, followed by panels on creditor-on-creditor violence, involuntary bankruptcies, debtors’ finances, small- to middle-market restructuring, cryptocurrency, the new process for discharging student loans, tax equity theft, avoidance actions, recent case law and the effects of COVID-19 on retail bankruptcies, as…
