Nordic Beginnings Marimekko, the Finnish lifestyle brand known for its exciting, colorful patterns, got its start inside a Finnish printing company in 1949. Its founder, Armi Ratia, began the company with the hope of creating vibrant and modern clothing for women who wanted their fashion to stand out.
