A highlight of the Cape Town literary calendar, the Jewish Literary Festival takes place this coming week on Human Rights Day, March 21, at the Gardens Community Centre.
A meeting of literati, authors and book lovers, it promises to offer a smorgasbord of lively talks, discussions and presentations, some controversial and all mind-enhancing.
South African-born authors taking part in this year’s enticing line-up include Denis Hirson (France), who will talk about his highly acclaimed latest book My Thirty-Minute Bar Mitzvah, Louisa Treger (UK), author of Madwoman, and John Schlapobersky (UK), who wrote When They Came For Me: The Hidden Diary of an Apartheid Prisoner.
