It’s been a little while since we last checked in with our Project Dirt Modified engine, but that doesn’t mean the progress has stopped. Thanks to Baril Engine Rebuilding, our engine is nearing completion and getting closer to firing for the first time.
The last time we saw our engine, it was assembled— although not completely—in the dry-assembly phase. Baril took that opportunity to do a final check of all the clearances for the crankshaft, camshaft, and rods, and pistons. After a satisfactory dry assembly, the engine was taken apart and the block was given a final washing. Now, we were ready to begin the process of assembly on the short block.
