BEEF PRICES MIXED
International: New Zealand steers traded 10,37% higher at NZ$5,32/kg, and cows were 13,89% higher at NZ$3,69/kg. US prices were mixed: topside was 2,28% higher at US$205,47/cwt, rump was 0,22% lower at US$273,21/cwt, strip loin was 5,04% lower at US$399,54/cwt, chuck traded 0,2% higher at US$209,07/cwt, and brisket traded 0,64% higher at US$204,68/cwt. The carcass price was 1,37% lower at US$245,83/cwt. Ongoing supply shortages in Australia and low slaughtering levels in New Zealand will continue to influence market prices.
Domestic: Local prices were mixed. Class A was 0,92% higher at R38,24/kg and Class C was 0,28% higher at R32,45/kg. The weaner price was 0,76% lower at R20,33/kg. The hide price was 1,07% lower at R15,07kg. More cattle was slaughtered week-on-week, putting pressure on prices.
