After the Lord made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them, he rested. And where did he rest? Next to the Tra-tra River: the most beautiful place on earth. He knew no one would bother him here, deep in the ribcage of the Cederberg.
“Ja-nee, kyk, that's the thing about Wupperthal,” says Barend Salomo, one of the people in charge of tourism. “It's paradise, but it's not an easy place to reach, or somewhere you end up by accident.”
To get to this former mission town, you have to travel far into the Cederberg, east of Clanwilliam, across the Pakhuis Pass, through the Biedouw Valley and down the Kouberg Pass.
