Someone sadly absent from Brookside’s return is the iconic Jimmy Corkhill – the soap’s longest-serving character, who was played by the late, great Dean Sullivan, who passed away in 2023. “Jimmy really was the personification of Brookside,” remembers Michael Starke, aka Brookie icon Sinbad. “The character went through so much and he touched everyone’s lives.
