But we take our hats off to the gang up at Hollyoaks, who threw the birthday bash to end all birthday bashes for their 30th anniversary – inviting cast, crew, media and fans to the red carpet for a night filled with thrills and spills (the spills mainly being Inside Soap accidentally knocking a drink out of the hands of one poor actor as they walked by!). When this storyline first started, it was certainly an interesting one – we know organised crime exploiting vulnerable people like Kojo is a real thing in Britain today, with the victims unable to escape their situation once the gangs have their claws in them. It’s also been good to see Ravi go back to his criminal roots, as we couldn’t help but feel that he’d gone a little too nice of late – and we prefer our Ravi with an edge. Meanwhile, newcomer Okie has great bad-guy energy, and Harry and Kojo’s friendship is one of the most heartwarming in soap. So far, so good.
