JURY COMMENT
As part of a wider re-branding of Les Mills, its Victoria Park gym has begun an interior transformation, which the client hopes will act as a prototype for its international franchises. This, a first phase of sorts, involved rethinking circulation so that three separate studios (boxing, cycling and functional) could cohabit in a large garage-like building. By using an Olympic base palette of silver, bronze, gold and black, the designers have created a high-end, boutique experience that is equal parts theatrical, nocturnal and elegant. Downlights onto gym equipment and the insertion of a minimalist, rectangular room (finished in reflecti e, bronze titanium-coated material) has further taken this gym into uncharted and undeniably stylish territories for similar fitness space.
