My management team and I have just come back from our monthly prayer meeting with our spiritual oversight and intercessors of the magazine and boy, was it a special time. Our pastor asked us to recount all the blessings, miracles, and evidence of answered prayers and God’s Hand upon the ministry over this past year. It was amazing, fantastic, and overwhelming. Count your blessings We always have prayer requests, but it is so good to also just sit back and reflect on the way in which the Lord has answered them. It reminds me of the lyrics to that hymn, “Count your blessings, name them one by one; count your blessings, see what God has done.”When we bring into remembrance all that the Lord has done for us, it is…
“Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again!” That’s what my Arnie (Aunty Trish) said to me when I tripped and fell on some uneven ground the other day. Hearing her words made me feel much better, so I picked myself up and dusted myself off, and we carried on with our “pootle”. I barked at a squirrel up a tree, got some “pee-mails,” and we had a most enjoyable time. Arnie explained that they were words to encourage me, and were meant to give me support and confidence after my fall. Sometimes people—and us doggies too—need to hear some comforting words. Although I don’t think what Arnie said comes from the Bible, I know there are lots of encouraging words in it, as I have seen…

Two brothers were extremely mischievous and their parents were at their wits’ end. So they asked their pastor to talk to the boys. The pastor sat the younger one down first. He wanted him to think about God, so he started the conversation by asking, “Where is God?” The boy didn’t respond, so he repeated the question in a stern tone. Again he gave no answer. Frustrated, the pastor shook his finger in the boy’s face and shouted, “WHERE IS GOD?” The boy bolted from the room, ran home, and hid in his closet. His brother followed him and asked, “What happened?” The younger replied, “We’re in big trouble now. God is missing, and they think we did it!” MERVYN APPADU is a former State Prosecutor, now the pastor of…
Jermaine has been a caddie at De Zalze golf estate in Stellenbosch for the past 16 years. He is regarded as one of the top, high-level caddies on the estate. Jermaine is a great example of why we, as the iCaddies team, are doing what we doing. “I have had the privilege of working as a caddie for a number of years at De Zalze. Before I received this opportunity, I had a life consisting of drug abuse and gangsterism. It was a difficult chapter where I was dishonest – not only to my family and loved ones, but to myself. It was and sometimes still is a challenging time, but through golf and caddying, I now earn an honest living and have respect for myself by offering a professional…
I want to become an organ donor, but my children are unhappy about my decision. What does the Bible say? A. The Scriptural principle involved here is respect for the body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 states that our “body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own... For you were bought at a price: therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” Some feel that organ donation mutilates the body. Others feel just as strongly that donating their organs will give someone else a chance to live and that this, in fact, shows great respect for the body and glorifies God. “Let each be fully convinced in his own mind” – Romans…
