‘A performance bike with turn-ups and a beard’ Leaner, stronger and better in the bends, Triumph’s new range-topping £13,000 Thruxton RS is more than just a Thruxton R with a few fancy bits.
It keeps all the R’s goodies (polished top yoke, alloy tank strap, Brembos, adjustable twin Öhlins, Showa BPF forks), but also gets lightweight 32-spoke wheels and sleek exhausts along with a significant chassis and engine update.
Like the Street and Speed Triple RSs, the Thruxton RS has higher spec Brembo M50 monoblocs, its Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsas make way for stickier Metzeler Racetec RR K3s and there’s a lighter battery. The Öhlins springs are blacked-out along with the engine covers and rims and, best of all, it’s almost a stone (6kg) lighter than the R.
Engine boost…
