Honda are making maximum use of their CB1000 Hornet platform, launching an £11,999 CB1000GT sportstouring variant for 2026 with massive standard spec, which includes panniers, cruise control, heated grips, hand guards, a centrestand, and quickshifter, plus a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), ride-by-wire throttle, and electronic suspension. It joins the Hornet and Hornet SP, plus a 70s-inspired retro CB1000F muscle bike for 2026 - all sharing the same 2017 Fireblade-derived 1000cc DOHC inline-four. It's been a year since BMW revealed their F450GS Concept at EICMA 2024 and now the full production version has been unveiled to plug the chasm between the G310GS and the F800GS. Offered in four versions – the £6990 Basic, £7290 Exclusive, £7440 Sport and £7760 Trophy – the F450GS is the first to use BMW's new 420cc parallel twin, created in partnership with India's TVS. It's an engine that will eventually power a whole range of F450 models but starts life in the adventure bike category with the GS. While parallel twins are commonplace, the BMW unit is unique thanks to a 135-degree crankpin offset instead of the more normal 180-degree or 270-degree formats, paired with a balance shaft to keep it smooth. Litre sportsbikes are still very much alive and kicking, with Kawasaki updating their flagship ZX-10R and homologation special ZX-10RR machines for 2026. The most noticeable change comes in the form of a heavily revised aero package, which features a set of large winglets at the front of the fairing. Kawasaki claim the increased frontal area generates a full 25% more downforce compared to the previous model. This is aided by the repositioned ram-air intake and shape of the front end. Although the 998c inline-four remains predominantly the same as before, it has been updated to meet Euro5+ thanks to some subtle tweaks that include a second O2 sensor. LiveWire have lifted the lid on their ‘most comprehensive’ new model display to date, introducing a series of arrivals at this year's EICMA. Among them is a tricked-up concept of the Milwaukee firm's long-standing S2 model – a bike which formerly nabbed MCN's Electric Bike of the Year – dubbed the Alpinista Corsa. Aside from a smattering of trick parts, the most attention-grabbing feature of the new model is a claimed ability to boost its 10.5kWh lithium battery pack from 20 to 80% in under 10 minutes, thanks to the addition of DC fast charging. It's been five years in the making but finally the resurgent Norton marque has revealed their first new models under TVS ownership – behold the new Manx R and Manx naked V4 superbike and super-naked, plus a pair of parallel-twin Atlas adventure machines. Styling is certainly distinctive with sleek lines and smooth panels echoing luxury car brands, giving these next-generation of Nortons that ultra-modern look. Honda have rolled out their E-Clutch technology across a further five models for 2026, with the semi-auto option now set to cover the CB500 Hornet, CBR500R, NX500, CB750 Hornet, and XL750 Transalp, although traditional manual set-ups will remain available for each. MV Agusta have used their presence at this year's EICMA show in Milan to reveal a new Brutale Serie Oro - a special-edition naked, limited to 300 global units, that makes use of the brand's 931cc triple already found in the Enduro Veloce adventure bike. As is the way with all new MVs, the Serie Oro is being used to demonstrate a new naked roadster platform ahead of a mass-market Brutale due to arrive soon after the special. This will sit above a recently revised Brutale 800, which has now been tweaked for Euro5+ . Indian Motorcycle have introduced two sportier Scout flavours for 2026, with a new RT model sitting on the firm's larger 1250cc V-twin platform, and a smaller 999cc Sport Scout Sixty intended to appeal to the less experienced end of the market. Both cruisers are updates to existing model lines, rather than ground-up redesigns - adding to a rejuvenated Scout family introduced across 2024. ‘Tis the season when winter hacks emerge from their summer slumber and require a dose of TLC before their duties resume, and here's a classic example of that: a neglected 2000 Suzuki SV650 that had never even had its brake fluid refreshed, with results just as bad as you'd expect. “It's his winter hack,” explains Doncaster Motorcycles’ Kevin Hollingsworth. “As soon as the clocks change, his winter rat comes out to keep his other bike nice. A new curveball has been thrown into the mix in the 2026 rider rumour mill in British Superbikes with Tommy Bridewell's departure from the Honda squad. Bridewell's second year onboard the Fireblade proved to be a difficult one, with only one win and five further podiums coming his way. Zero Motorcycles have announced a new CEO, appointing PierreMartin Bos to take over from Sam Paschel after eight years at the helm. Paschel will now move into the senior advisory board, with Bos stepping in from a career spent mainly in the car industry. One day…’ Ahead of the four-bike reveal, MCN sat down with Managing Director of TVS, Sudarshan Venu to discuss the challenges of re-establishing the Norton brand, as well as expanding a global customer base. It's been 20 years since Ducati debuted the Pierre Terblanche-designed Hypermotard concept and for 2026 the bike enters its fourth distinct generation as a completely new model, built around the company's new variable-valve-timing 890cc ‘V2’ engine platform. It's the first Hypermotard not to use Ducati's signature desmodromic valvetrain, adopting conventionally sprung valves, but despite that change and a 47cc drop in capacity compared to its predecessor, the Hypermotard V2 is the most powerful and lightest twin-cylinder model in the family to date. Kawasaki have rolled out a raft of updates for the Z900RS and its higher-spec SE sibling, increasing power and adorning the roadsters with an updated suite of rider aids thanks to the addition of an IMU. Starting with the motor, and while last year's 948cc inline-four remains, power and torque rise to 114bhp and 72lb.ft, respectively. Under the skin, there are new throttle valves, a bi-directional quickshifter, and, thanks to that six-axis IMU, the middleweight Zeds now boast lean-sensitive ABS and traction control. I bought a new set of six NGK spark plugs for my RC on eBay. When they turned up, I saw that they'd been made in China and it kicked me off on a bit of a strop initially, because I thought I'd been scammed into buying fakes. I dug out a new-old NGK spark plug that I had still in its box and it said Made in Japan on it, as historically that's where NGK were made. You hear about fake plugs being sold online which break up when your bike's running and the electrodes fall off and ruin your engine. A Paris-Dakar legend The Ténéré is a remote region of the south-central Sahara, and back in 1983 crossing it became part of the route of the notoriously challenging Paris Dakar Rally. Powerbeats Fit £199.95 4 months ON TEST These earbuds aren't specifically for motorcycling, but they've got very good active noise cancellation, which means they're a great substitute for earplugs even before you beam any music through them. They're meant for fitness usage, so they're sweat- and water-resistant. They boast up to 30 hours of battery life, although if you initiate full noise cancellation this drops to six hours. They're not without drawbacks,: the design stays in my ear well but they protrude slightly too far for them to stay in place when I remove my lid, and the app lacks sound customisation – I'd prefer a bit more bass but don't have the option.
