Encouragingly, the global plant-based movement is gaining traction and New Zealand is onboard, coming in eighth in the world for highest prevalence of vegetarianism (behind India, Taiwan, UK, Brazil, Switzerland, Israel and Australia). According to Roy Morgan research, the amount of vegetarians and vegans in New Zealand rose from 1-2% in 2002, to 10.3% in 2015.
