Thank you, NEXT... Many of the stories in NEXT revolve around change. We talk about listening to gut instinct when making decisions. We discuss how much we benefit from putting ourselves out there. We encourage each other to be brave. So it was inevitable that at some point, the desire for change would come and grab me. What I’m trying to say is; this is my final issue as editor of NEXT. For me, there was no question – if I started a fashion brand, it would be one that placed people and the planet at the forefront of every decision. I believed that the industry and customers were ready for change, so I wanted to build a brand that championed transparency and made a positive impact on everyone involved. Learning just how many Kiwi kids are living in poverty left Paulette Cotter horrified. About 254,000 children are affected in this country, and she couldn’t just sit back and do nothing to help them. My week: The nature of my job means I don’t really have a typical working week. I love that my hours and work are always different – it keeps things fresh and stops me getting bored. Five days a week, I start the day with a workout. I’m currently doing F45, which I absolutely love. The format works well for me as I’m a big fan of high-intensity interval training.
