‘The no-sugar, no-carbohydrate (ketogenic) diet involves limiting your intake of carbs to less than 50g per day,’ explains nutritionist Rob Hobson. Here’s the science.
‘Carbs are broken down into glucose, the body’s preferred source of energy, says Rob. ‘On a ketogenic diet the body utilises energy from ketones, produced by the liver from fatty acids’.
