PANTHER CHAMELEON
Habitat: Tropical forests and scrublands of eastern and northern Madagascar.
Size: Up to 23 cm (9 in.) in length.
Diet: Insects, small birds, and other reptiles.
• Panther chameleons come in all sorts of colours and colour combinations—including blue, red, green, orange, pink, and more. Males tend to be more colourful and a little larger than females, which are often tan and brown.
• These colour combinations vary depending on where in Madagascar they come from.
• Like other chameleons, panther chameleons will change colour depending on the temperature, the light, or their mood. But contrary to popular belief, chameleons can’t change colour for camouflage.
