WE’VE ALL BEEN there – you have an unexpected 10 or 15 minutes to yourself, which is perfect for a little mindfulness break. But then you can’t decide what to do: meditation, reading, a walk, journalling, yoga? By the time you’ve weighed up all the options and made a decision, the time is up and you’re left feeling anything but calm.
That was me, too, and sometimes it still is! But I’ve found some improvement in using a card deck. These sets of cards are hugely popular for all sorts of activities: exercise, crafting, kids’ activities, and now mindfulness. There are usually around 52 cards in a set, each with a different suggestion. You simply choose cards at random and do the activity on each card.
