WHEN we tested the then new Triumph Bonneville Bobber last year, we were blown away by its radical appearance and low-slung stance, then amazed how well it performed, especially the grunt from that fantastic engine (Snake Charmer, Retrobike #29). We were not alone, with Triumph reporting the Bobber went on to become the fastest-selling model in the factory’s history.
Most manufacturers would have left well enough alone, but not Triumph Motorcycles, which has comprehensively updated the Bobber in both appearance and riding feel for 2018 with the new Bonneville Bobber Black.
