I have an in-car camera now.
My decision was made after much deliberation, a cost-benefit analysis, and seeing way too many clueless/reckless/ thoughtless moves by other road users – motorists, motorbikers, cyclists, pedestrians and random PMD (personal mobility device) riders.
But I didn’t install a dashcam as my car’s electronic eyewitness, equipped with the vigilance of a traffic policeman and the conscientiousness of a parking warden. Instead, I’m using an action digicam, which is far more versatile than a dashcam.
The action camera’s versatility means it can be deployed in different (test) cars, with a choice of angles, shooting modes and mounting positions. And I can control the gadget with a smartphone app.
I also have the accessories to park the digicam on my hand, wrist, arm, leg or head.…
