Kirbee Miller found a way to bridge her love for food and community to create KiNiMi Kitchen, which she launched in 2017. If there’s one thing Nashvillians hold near and dear, it’s live music. And with in-person shows on pause for more than a year, we’re all excited for some of the city’s most talented musicians to make their return to the venues we love. One of the most beloved is the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, where the Nashville Symphony will resume regular performances just in time for its 75th anniversary season. The Nashville Symphony’s 2021-22 season features a remarkable lineup of over 100 classical, pops, jazz, and family concerts with the GRAMMY-winning orchestra. Additionally, attendees can expect appearances by renowned guest artists, film favorites screened with the accompaniment of a live orchestra, and so much more. Yola, the powerhouse singer/songwriter, gets personal on her sophomore album Stand for Myself. With lyrics inspired by her own experiences and emotions and a sound that mixes soul and classic pop, the album distinguishes itself from her 2019 debut: the four-time Grammy-nominated Americana/roots-heavy Walk Through Fire. For the new outing, Yola once again partnered with producer (and one-half of the Black Keys) Dan Auerbach to create a no-skips lineup of flawless tracks that are entirely and unapologetically representative of who she is, while paying tribute to anyone who has ever been made to feel like an outsider. “It is 1,000 percent representative of who I am, and my hopes to connect with those who have been made to feel like they were ‘other,’” says Yola.
