Model Ikram Abdi Omar applied the same principles “learning” about the fashion industry as she did studying biomedical science at Bristol University. “I have become really interested in fashion. I’ve read up on it and the people within it, so when I go to events I know who everyone is,” the 23-year-old model tells us pragmatically when we meet in London’s Stoke Newington after her HFM cover shoot. “Even my agent will say, ‘How do you know who all of these people are?’. I’ll say, ‘I’ve been reading about them for a while now’.” It would seem that when Ikram directs attention at something, she flourishes.
