What's your signature style? Do you have a go-to technique, colour palette or type of print that defines your quilt projects? In the last year my quilting style has totally changed – largely driven by necessity (having a baby certainly makes you refocus your time!). Whereas once I was mostly working on hand sewing projects and thought nothing of committing months at a time to a single quilt, I now seek out fast-finishes that I can cut, sew and pack away in an evening. I love that even after all these years my style is adapting and I’m finding ways to maximise the time I do have to dedicate to sewing. CUTTING AND PIECING WITH YOUR TEMPLATES 1 Cut strips of fabric to the height of one of your templates. Align your template and cut along the two long sides. Then use the template to trim the two lower corners. Turn the template to cut the next piece (Fig 1). 2 Arrange your pieces in rows. Place the first two pieces RST and sew using a ¼in seam. Press the seams open or to one side (Fig 2). Continue working across the row until you’ve joined all your pieces (Fig 3). Piece each row in the same way. 3 Place two rows RST.
