live, in balance

HEALTHY LIVING calls for a multi-levelled approach. From veganism to 'everything in moderation' and spin class to meditative yoga, we have our own ingredients for living well. Acai bowls, green smoothies and marathons aside, science now tells us maintaining your health is more than just making good choices. And food is only part of the equation. Optimal body health and life balance needs more: essential Omega fatty acids. The human body can't produce it and our modern lifestyles distort it. Our Omega 6:3 ratio, cuts us off from core benefits and balance our bodies need, without us realising it. THAT'S ALL ABOUT TO CHANGE. Zinzino's Balance range, the new science of pharmaconutrition, fights the EPA and DHA imbalance, empowering our bodies by perfectly harmonising both essential fatty acids. Now, identify your Omega 6:3 ratio with Zinzino's Balance…

I recalled this recently when I met a man who has recycled 89,000 plastic salon bottles into, among other things, sunglasses. Paul Frasca’s company, Sustainable Salons Australia, recycles hair salon waste. I was staggered to discover that more than a million kilos of hair foils go into landfill each year. Paul’s company recyles that too, and even the hair itself gets refurbed – some of it to create wigs for those suffering alopecia, or hair loss…

SARAH’S INSPIRING WORDS It was refreshing reading the article on Sarah Harris (Oct/Nov). I love her groundedness, honesty and beautiful sense of self-acceptance/love towards her body. Working with young women in schools, with all the body image challenges that they face, I will use Sarah as an example of how, as women, we can be grateful for our bodies, though they’re not perfect. Her final sentence, “What comes out of our mouth is more important than the size of our bum,” was pure gold, and one I would like to see emblazoned on every school wall. Christine Blake, Tas A DECADE OF GOOD ADVICE I was beyond thrilled when Prevention launched 10 years ago and I’ve hardly missed an issue. Reading the article Celebrating 10 Years (Oct/Nov), which looked at the news and breakthroughs…
