The warmer temperatures and vibrant blooms of spring often bring a revitalized spirit that inspires us to refresh our spaces and revaluate what’s most important to us. While shaking off the winter cold and opening the windows to let in fresh air, we often take a look at our surroundings and decide we’re ready to make exciting changes. The pages of this beautiful issue are filled with colorful and carefully curated homes that are designed to evoke emotion. From displaying family heirlooms to selecting pieces that have storied histories of their own, these designers and homeowners have unmatched attention to detail. Courtney Coleman (CC): My great-aunt was a decorator in the Mississippi Delta. When I was a teenager, she’d take me with her to markets in New York and Dallas. Working the shows with her and spending time in rooms she designed was so educational. Bill Brockschmidt (BB): My family moved to Virginia at the age when I was becoming aware of my environment, and we would take trips to Williamsburg and the James River plantations and see the houses open during Virginia Garden Week. For me, historic architecture and gracious interiors were all one and the same. Then I went to the University of Virginia and fell in love with the…
