VINTAGE STYLE Debbie Bliss’s latest pattern collection takes its design cues from mid-century British fashions. The Vintage Collection offers a choice of women’s cardigans, tops and jumpers, featuring neat shapes worked in fine yarns for your summer wardrobe. ‘Vera’, for example, is a pretty blouse with all-over Fair Isle patterning and a small button-up collar. The ‘Beryl’ cardigan has a classic 1950s shape, and features lace ribbing, and embroidered flowers in ice cream shades. The hand-dyed yarns of Polish brand Martin’s Lab have been making a big impact across Europe and beyond. To celebrate the launch of its new Aubrey Sport BFL-silk yarn, Martin’s Lab has published a book of patterns from star designers including Bristol Ivy, Isabell Kraemer, Carol Feller and Woolly Wormhead. Among the designs are four shawls with intriguing stitch textures and beautiful colour combinations - ‘Ammon’ by Julie Knits in Paris has the most gorgeous brioche colourwork.
