Whilst I wouldn’t say I live my life on social media, I have to confess I really can’t leave it alone. Kids of today think you’re moaning about nothing and can’t imagine a life without their phones, but I’ve found I can’t sit through a television programme without idly gazing at the bloody thing. Often I don’t even realise I’m doing it, it’s just something to do. You know, you hear a ping, check a message and then find yourself reading about some lady you don’t know in Aberdeen who’s lost her dog… I know! It’s all pointless and a waste of our valuable time on this planet, but it’s also stupidly addictive isn’t it? Especially when you’re the type of chap/chapette who can’t stop looking at cars. If you’re so…

BAY V TYPE 25 Hi James, having owned both a (Late) Bay and a (water-cooled) Type 25, I eagerly read and digested your article on ‘which should you buy? A Bay or Type 25’ in the Spring ‘19 magazine. And I am pleased to say that you came to the exact conclusion that made me change from the Bay to the Type 25! I bought the Type 25 to do up as an investment, but soon realised it was going to be our Bus of choice, it really does win hands down, its bigger and better at everything! It makes for an ideal and incredibly practical Camper, yet still has enough age and presence to hold its head high at VW meets! I love Bays to bits, but ten out of ten for not…

’88 Syncro 4x4, Doug Harwood Doug Harwood runs VW Works in Angmering in Sussex and is thoroughly imbued in VWs, repairing and restoring them during the week and camping in his own Syncro 4x4 at weekends. If that were not enough, he runs the Stolen VW Register too. His Syncro 4x4 started its life as a twin slider Panel Van, that was purchased by Devon Conversions and converted into a seven seater Minibus. It was owned by a church in Snowdonia, Wales, transporting its parishioners to church and for outings. The church owned the Syncro until 2010, when a retired couple acquired it. They put the roof on and installed a bed. They then clocked up around 50,000 miles touring all over Europe, to the point where it had clocked up…
