passion for the deep at the atomic level

Based in Nantes, France, Darnet Design creates interior and exterior designs for superyachts and production boats. Our studio of 7 is managed by Franck Darnet, foun mmore than 2,500 yachts ranging from 12m to 64m. The experience Franck gained while sailing around the world helped him make his clients’ dreams come true and is the basis for our studio’s philosophy, which is to create designs that are an “Art of Space” and “A la carte style”. Having worked with the owner of Atomic previously, we were familiar with his interior pallet and passion for diving. The brief required a warm, cosy and timeless interior inspired by marine life. This theme extends from bow to stern, achieving calm and inviting spaces throughout the yacht. Sold by Jean-Claude Carme of TWW Yacht…

atelier bernard pictet

How did you start creating elements for Yachts? What was your favorite creation? Yacht owners want uniqueness and are not restricted by the price of glass. The most important is uniqueness and pleasingness. I aspire to do distinctive products. That’s why I was naturally bought to the yachting industry. The first yacht onboard which I made a glass design was the EOS by Lurssen, a 93 meters sailing yacht. I love sails. The interior designer was Francois Catroux. We made everything in the style of the 30’s. After this project, I met Remi Tessier, he is the one who launched me in the yachting world. I really enjoy working with him, I love his style. Nevertheless, I have just finished an amazing creation with Reymond Langton, for Lady S 93 meters…

the future starts now

“Yacht Design Firm Piredda & Partners has released 110m game-changer concept M/Y NOW. The eye-catching design aims to mark the beginning of superyacht next generation.” Nicolò Piredda, Creative Director at Piredda & Partners, says: «The upcoming years hold a new way to go through the design process where designers will reconsider volumes, heights, proportions, as well as a new way of living aboard and new flows, while keeping functionality as first priority. The design result is on a whole new level.» M/Y NOW, 110m vessel by 15,6m beam (18,0 m including aft and forward wings), sheds the lights on this idea of the future. The volumes alignment alteration creates new spots onboard and splits areas with different purpose such as the private owner’s deck and the crew quarter on bridge deck.…

Last year saw a dazzling array of brand-new superyachts hit the water for the first time, and one of the most head-turning was the 262-ft Artefact, built in Germany by Nobiskrug and designed by Gregory C Marshall with an interior by Reymond Langton Design. Artefact is notable for a number of reasons, not the least of which is her advanced hybrid technology, striking exterior design and the fact that she is the biggest-volume yacht of her size in the world. The owner’s brief was to create a yacht that blended environmental responsibility, innovative features and high comfort levels, and the design team more than delivered. The Artefact build team pushed the boundaries of yacht design, and rightly describe her as a ‘game changer.’ Key features include the combined use of…
