As we get into May, and (fingers crossed) to a relaxing of the lockdown restrictions, one of the things I am most looking forward to is eating at restaurants again. All being well, restaurants will be able to welcome us back inside this month, and I can’t wait. In this month’s issue, we’ve been thinking about takeaways – for many people over the last year, ordering in has become a bit more commonplace, for ease after a busy day of working, or to celebrate a special occasion when leaving the house isn’t possible. mccartney family announces new cookbook

Paul McCartney and his daughters Stella and Mary have announced a new cookbook, released in June, which will feature over 90 of the late Linda McCartney’s recipes. Linda, an American photographer and musician, died in 1998 of breast cancer, but her legacy lives on in the world-famous food company that bears her name. Paul McCartney took to Instagram to announce the new book, saying: “Years ago, before anyone had woken up to the idea of environmental and health and animal welfare issues, Linda was blazing the trail with vegetarianism, telling people about it and promoting it. In the book there are family photographs and stories from those days, and of course, lots of great, beautiful tasting healthy recipes.” Linda’s Family Kitchen will be published on 24th June by Orion Books.…

tell me more about… pumpkin seeds

Also known as pepitas, the edible seeds of pumpkins tend to be green and oval. They have a white outer husk, which is generally removed to make the seeds suitable for use in cooking, baking and snacking. A popular way of eating them is to roast them with different flavours. Though they are small, they are packed with nutrition; they contain fibre, protein, fibre and healthy fats. Research suggests that pumpkin seeds may also be helpful in controlling high cholesterol and blood sugar levels, and as a source of magnesium, it’s believed that they may help regulate blood pressure.…
