“We want to see more real weddings!” It’s something we hear almost every day here at Queensland Brides – and who are we to ignore the wishes of our beloved brides-to-be? We’ve responded by dedicating even more pages to Queensland couples, who have opened up their wedding albums and given us a glimpse into their big days. If you’d like to see your wedding featured on the QB website or in the pages of this very magazine, go to queenslandbrides.com.au/real-wedding-submission-form. Who knows, it could be you inspiring other brides with your wedding style in our next issue! As well as brilliant real weddings, we have an epic 75-page receptions feature (p101), filled with theme inspiration, advice on how to make a memorable toast, and planning fails you’ll definitely want to avoid.…

the short list

The LWD (little white dress) is a staple of chic modern weddings, with brides and designers alike embracing the short trend. There’s the ballerina (just above the ankle), the tea-length (just below the knee or mid-shin), and the hi-lo (the mullet of the wedding dress world: short at the front, party at the back). So if you’re getting married on the beach, heading abroad or simply prefer a shorter dress, forego the floor sweeper and show off your pins in a LWD. Just make sure you team it with some seriously gorgeous shoes.…

finding “the one”

The search is over. White Lily Couture has crowned its inaugural brand ambassador. Launched last year, White Lily’s “Search for ‘The One’” contest gave Queensland women a chance to embrace their unique inner beauty and become the face of the exclusive bridal boutique. White Lily Couture’s owner and style director, Alera Kingham saw the contest as a way to give an aspiring model or budding bride-to-be the opportunity to kickstart her career, and to help shape the bridal industry by inspiring and empowering women. Ten finalists were chosen, who modelled White Lily Couture’s new range at the Enzoani 2016 Spring Collection launch. Judging was based on “beauty from within”, which is what the brand is all about. The judges were looking for someone who radiated beauty through their passion, diversity and kindness,…
