editor’s note

Like I mentioned exactly a year ago; the journey is not easy but we never opted for an easy ride when the tough looks so exciting and beautiful. Yes, it’s been 12 years! It had been a crazy ride and what a month it has been. Not for the highs, the lows, the stress, the anxiety; but to see the team’s spirit in achieving a single goal. Taking inspiration from my young and stylish team, I decided to dedicate the issue to the young creators, influencers and designers. I am not going to talk about the inside pages today. I am leaving it on you to decide. You have been reading and appreciating many articles through letters and emails, it will be good to know about the people behind those researched…

letter of the month

Cover Dhamaka The cover of a magazine is it’s soul. It is the eyes and the heart too. The cover of The Ideal Home and Garden is what makes the magazine endearing and visually appealing. I first look at the cover, admire it to my satisfaction, and then move on to the pages. There is not a single feature that I miss out on. My favourites are Shopping Spree, Ideal Getaway, Cover Focus and Cover Focus Plus. These sections are always loaded with surprises galore. The festive season of Deepawali is fast approaching, and just like all other loyal readers of TIHG, I am also looking forward to read articles loaded with festival goodies. Kundalika Gangadhar Rao, Hyderabad Rising Greens With the rise in temperatures around the globe, it’s time for an introspection. It’s…

Confluences by Philippe Nigro for Ligne Roset may be considered to be a trailblazer in terms of the new trend for ‘counterforms’ as characterised by the interwoven yin-yang or puzzle-type effect. It will be just as pleasing to lovers of radical design, pioneers searching for a settee, which is totally different from any other, as it will to all those who are seduced first and foremost by the freedom of posture and unheard-of conviviality offered by its colourful, unbridled compositions. www.iotafurniture.com ECLECTIC ELEGANCE Ottimo’s superior Eclipse collection of living room furniture line celebrates art and understands opulence. The plush modular sofa sets upholstered in nabuk leather with special stitching are perfectly constructed pieces of furniture that exude a timeless, understated elegance and luxury. behind the design

THOA is all about... Celebrating imperfections through meaningful handmade products made by our artisans across India, Burma and New Zealand. Design to me... Is something that gives meaning to the simplest of things and connects to each person in a unique way. Through my designs... I want people to know that life, like in design, there is no right or wrong, big or small and that one must be proud to express themselves bare and naked. I draw inspiration from... The love and dedication with which an artisan pours her entire soul into making each product. The design era that fascinates me the most... Surrealism, as it freed people from restrictive notions and customs. What I’ve always loved about my work... The fact that my work can lift, brighten up and inspire someone to be real and authentic. THOA collection includes... Artisanal dinnerware,…
