editor’s note

I have a little crush on a few words, which I tend to use often. Design enthusiast is one such favourite. It means someone who is really passionate and excited about designs. Though the love for design tends to be subjective (varies in terms of colours, patterns, textures, etc) but, I don’t feel there is a single person who is not attracted to something which is aesthetically pleasing. So, our February issue is dedicated to the design enthusiasts out there. It is a tribute to many designers, artists, artisans, brand owners who are making design possible, meaningful and memorable. The issue is bursting with trends and designs that are classic and yet on going. ‘The Quintessential Vogue’ covers each aspect of trends that will surely grab your attention. We want to…

Heart and Soul Our home is where our heart resides. How true. Every issue of TIHG introduces ‘new’ and ‘fresh’ homes. Homes that have a meaning, homes that are less cluttered, vibrant and there is a smell of freshness. It is the images that are very attractive - lively and energetic. Most homes are so beautiful, however, by the time a reader gets into the groove of reading the articles and enjoying the images, the article gets over quickly. Is it possible for Editorial to increase the pages? I also enjoy reading international homes from different countries. The homes are clutter-free and really spacious. We should learn from our counterparts from others countries on how to have a tidy home. Sharmistha Bannerjee, Kolkata Green Pastures The world is going green and so are we…

letter of the month

Giving Wings Today women are at the forefront in almost everything. They are neck to neck with men in all fields. Same can be said for women interior designers and architects. My joy knew no bounds after reading the January issue’s Designer Speak. Four interior designers, all with different ideas, thoughts, and mind. Young and talented. The best part - they are responsible professionals who care for the environment. In short – they are inspiration galore for young girls who are looking forward to make architecture/ interior designing their career.…

Renowned designer duo Prateek Jain and Gautam Seth have unveiled a light installation called Caravan that is a combination of twenty new forms of light designs. Made entirely of brass, each form is a shamanic totem symbol. Spirit guides of birds (eagle, peacock) onto animals (eagles, tiger, wolf, monkey) along with plants and trees coming together – each a unique symbol of healing, power, raw energy, wisdom, living in harmony, beauty or messengers of joy.(www.klove.com) FINISHING TOUCHES The textile space for interior design and home decor is looking up for inspiration from Alhambra’s all new furnishing fabrics collection in association with RR Decor. The contrasts in black and white emphasises on form where fabrics are designed with a set-square. IMAGINATIVE COLLECTIONS Midori Collective, an online boutique for handmade wearable art objects is raising eyebrows…

behind the design

ta.da is all about... Seeking harmony in chaos and form in the shapeless. A grand celebration of beautiful imperfections. Design to me... Is a form of personal expression that appreciates beauty in the ordinary and humour in the routine. Through my designs... We want people to embrace imperfections, for us there is no such thing as ‘perfect.’ Imperfections are most often beautiful and we fail to see it only because of one’s perceptions, which obviously is subjective. I draw inspirations from... Idiosyncrasies of a friend, minor niggles of a relationship, and sometimes even our own flaws and from our imperfect world. The design era that fascinates me the most... The millennial era. What I’ve always loved about my work... I allow my mind to wander around and let my pencil do everything. ta.da collection includes... Dinnerware, serveware, mugs, cups, decor plates and customised…
