a letter from the editor

Our goal....Sustainability! The year 2019 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for sustainability, with both consumer and corporates taking center stage. Not just product-wise, but architects and designers are taking pains to make great-looking buildings and homes environment-friendly. There is no second thought on sustainability adding more value, to a building’s local environment and to the lives of its occupants. Team TIHG travelled to major fairs across the globe and found that designers and brands are taking this concept very seriously, by either using material that are eco-friendly or giving second life to already existing material. While doing our research on top sustainable brands (to be featured in April Edition), we realised that sustainable products are now very stylish as well as functionally innovative. The design approach of the…

Future Spectacles I have been a fan of TIHG since 2013. I don’t have any one such perfect article. For me all features are interesting and educative. However, there is a feature in the magazine, which stands out always - Designer Speak. The word ‘designer’ is very common, however what appears in the magazine is simply outstanding. TIHG explores the word designer to the hilt. In every issue there is a surprise either in the form of material designers, wood designers, wrought iron designers, etc. There is a saying - a magazine that explores does wonders for its readers. Looking forward to getting exposed to such designers in the issues to come. Tiara Advani, Mumbai Future Green There was a time when India was a land in abundance with greenery. letter of the month

Travel Sojourn We are a travel freak couple. We love to travel across continents and visit different countries. For us, TIHG is the right source in terms of travel. The Ideal Getaway section is what we eagerly await month after month. As usual, the February issue threw up surprise galore in the form of Iceland, France and Vietnam. All the three destinations are super romantic destinations. After some deliberations, brain-storming sessions, we finally settled for Vietnam, a country known for it’s rich history, art and hospitality, and which we are yet to explore. Thanks TIHG for being a guiding star!…

ish 2019

France being the partner country, ISH 2019 will continue to foster an exchange of ideas and experiences at international level during the show. ISH is an exhibition that showcases future-proof products and services for building engineering and highlights a large number of practical solutions and addresses specifically some of the political and economic issues of the day. The ISH Water section concentrates, first and foremost, on sustainable sanitation solutions and ultra-modern bathroom design. This area concerns, amongst other things, intelligent water-management systems and how best to make sure they are secure and safe and how best to regulate and monitor them. And clean drinking water, too, is a hugely important area, specifically against the background of increasing urbanisation. At the same time, we must not forget design considerations in the…
