editor’s note

Stay in, stay safe! COVID-19 is absolutely the biggest news story of our time and there is no denying it. The pandemic is affecting everything that we can think of - economy, health and our social lives. And our role as journalists is not only to bring you reliable & trustworth news but also to keep you occupied and engaged while you are stuck at homes, during these exceptionally challenging times. I realised that working remotely was difficult for us, not because I missed my super-coordinated team (thanks to technology like zoom, we are well connected), but meeting deadlines and other approvals took a toll on us. Yes, we have decided to remove a few sections such as travel and spaces that features hotels and destinations at this time, and added more…

A Great Experience An avid reader since 2015, I simply enjoy every page that TIHG presents. Each page spells reality – the life size images, the smooth and well-written text, above all the language and the tone talks about how in simple ways you can do beautiful things to your house. I also like the food pages very much. As a family we are fo o d i e s and love to eat at different restaurants. I would like to see more articles with regards to restaurants across India, mostly from tier II and tier III cities. India has some of the best food culture and we are keen to explore new food culture always. Rashmi Pathare, Mumbai A Rich Legacy Thirteen glorious years and still going strong. TIHG as a magazine always…

behind the design

Kritika Soni, Designer/Artist, Kara Sabi Kara Sabi is all about... Finding and appreciating beauty in imperfection and reflecting that idea through handcrafted ceramics. It draws from the Japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi that believes that nothing can ever be perfect, permanent or complete; and that the process of ageing enriches the experience of life, rather than diminishes its quality of life. Design to me... A culmination of personality, functionality and aesthetics. A good design should be purposeful experiential (be able to evoke an emotion in a person) and at the same time reflect who you are as a person. Through my designs... I wish to remind everyone to appreciate and acknowledge natural ageing and inconsistencies; to not see it as a flaw, rather cherish it and embrace the imperfections in their daily lives. I aim for…

welcome home!

Just because it's not a room in transitional sense, doesn't mean it should be neglected. The hallway is the first thing you or your guests see when they enter your house, so it is actually the first space that decides the tone and vibe of the rest of the home. According to Yovnne Purcell, its a good idea to spruce it up a little with some clever ways to make it look like an essential part of your home and not just a pathway into your house. -Colours Are Good A coat of paint will brighten up any dark hallway and with so many bright and cheerful paint options, you don't really ned to stick to whites. You can also brighten up your hallway by using graphic wallpaper with vertical stripes or…
