A couple of years ago, someone gave me a gratitude journal. It was a beautiful book, leather-bound with gold foil lettering, a silky satin bookmark and premium lined paper. It was the kind of thing that ups your intellect level just by carrying it around. As a journalist who is constantly jotting down observations and info, I like nothing better than a quality notebook, but the thought of having to fill the pages with musings about what I’m thankful for, everyday no less, seemed a bit much. When you write for a living, the last thing you want to do is write for the fun of it.
