Oh, What a Sight!
While at a wedding reception in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, a year and a half ago, I noticed something hovering around the floral centerpiece at our table. I nudged my husband and excitedly exclaimed, “Look! A hummingbird moth!” As we watched it closely and took poor-quality cellphone photos on the dimly lit covered porch, I noticed a resort staff member was also watching the moth, clearly ready to swoop in and shoo it away. We laughed because the staffer was probably not used to two people more focused on a flying insect than on the bride and groom.
