new m3 and m4 released

Just as we went to press with our last issue BMW revealed full official details of the G80 M3 Competition Saloon and G82 M4 Competition Coupé. It's thirty-five years since the first BMW M3 debuted, these latest M cars are powered by a 510hp 3.0-litre straight-six in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology to blend searing performance with everyday usability. The impressive power unit is partnered with an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission sending power to the rear wheels. M xDrive versions of both models will be available from the summer. The power on offer is a 60hp hike over the preceding models, torque is up by 74lb ft. bmw cuts i3 pricing

As more people opt for electric vehicles, the UK government recently announced changes to its plug-in car, van and truck grant (PiCG). From 18 March 2021 the government began providing grants of up to £2,500 for electric vehicles on cars priced under £35,000 where previously the threshold had been £50,000, meaning that a number of EVs which previously qualified for the grant immediately fell outside of it. In response a number of vehicle manufacturers adjusted vehicle pricing structures, happily BMW was one of them. What BMW calls a "pricing realignment" has taken place for the i3 and i3S to ensure that customers can continue to benefit from the Grant. The BMW iX is a new technological flagship said to offer fresh design ideas, sustainability, and emission-free driving. Safe to say I didn’t expect to be writing this story after Chris Selfe bought my un-MoT’d E36 M3 and trailered it away a couple of years ago. Let alone that I’d be driving both it and also Chris’s own Compact rally car today.
