Greetings CAR readers. This has always been one of my favourite issues. the starts of 2022

01 ALFA ROMEO TONALE ETA Q4 2022 What is it? Previewed in concept form at the Geneva Motor Show in 2019 and set for an official world reveal in March 2022, the Tonale will slot into the Alfa Romeo stable beneath the Stelvio and will feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain with full-electric mode. Production-spec details are thin on the ground at this stage but it’s believed the Tonale will be underpinned by the EMP2 modular platform from the Peugeot 3008 and a choice of 1,4-litre turbopetrol (125 kW) or 1,3-litre petrol plug-in hybrid with an 11,4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that’s good for 140 kW and an all electric range of roughly 42 km. Why we’re excited There’s been much talk of Alfa Romeo’s demise but the marque – now under the stewardship of the…

When it comes down to it, is there anything that matters more than a vehicle’s track record? What’s come before speaks volumes about quality, durability and reliability. It gives us a pretty accurate sense of what to expect from a new model because it tells us if a manufacturer knows what they’re doing. In the world…
