what’s in your beach bag?

Lindsey Johnson and Liz Eichholz like to make a splash—with towels at the ready. In 2018 the friends-turned-business-partners realized they had a mutual dislike for their bath linens. “After some research, we found we weren’t alone,” recalls Eichholz. “We decided it was time to take matters into our own hands.” Enter Weezie Towels, the Georgia-based line of ridiculously soft, completely customizable organic cotton towels and robes that are currently wrapping up fans from coast to coast. Not ones to throw in the towel, as it were, this May the duo introduced a collection of fluffy, oversize beach towels. Both Johnson and Eichholz have plans to put them to good use at scenic Georgia beaches—Sea Island and Tybee Island, respectively. Be it a friend-filled affair or a day of sandcastles with their…

stroke of genius

Best known as the founder of the lifestyle and decorating blog So Haute, Nicole Gibbons began her own paint company, Clare, when she spied a major lack in the marketplace. Here, Gibbons shares that story, plus intel on hues you can use. Why did you start Clare? NG: Shopping for paint has always been a huge hassle. There are thousands of colors and too many product lines, and the store environments are completely uninspiring. Over my career, I’ve heard so many horror stories about people’s paint shopping experiences. I didn’t want anyone to ever have to sort through a confusing and endless sea of paint chips again. Tell me all about the paint. NG: The difference is really all about our experience. We know that you aren’t shopping for “paint”; you are searching for…
