welcome to the issue

SEEING JENNIFER ANISTON and Reese Witherspoon together on the red carpet to promote The Morning Show, their new series for AppleTV+, fills my heart with joy. For such a high-profile, mega-budget series to be female-led (and not just on screen) simply would not have happened 10 years ago. Smart, self-assured, hard-working and (importantly) fun: Jen and Reese are the perfect Grazia cover stars. This week, Paul Flynn dissects their ‘power friendship’, which was sealed over ‘legendary’ dinner parties with their A-list squad. Just one question: how do we join? @rosamunddean / feedback@graziamagazine.co.uk…

over to you...

All credit to Katie Jarvis and her desire to not sit and wait for another high-profile role but to get on with her life. I admire her work ethic – she shouldn’t be vilified. I also love that she’s proud. This issue you also had another former actress who’s taken on a new job. It might be as a duchess but they both know that resting on your acting laurels is not the answer! Jules B SHINING A LIGHT I was so comforted by ‘I’m glad I was diagnosed with ADHD’ (28 Oct). I’m 34 and was diagnosed earlier this year. It has been revelatory, the missing piece that provided clarity and enabled the help I desperately needed. I was never able to understand why I found everything so difficult, why I…

the greatest role

I felt sorry for ex-EastEnders actor Katie Jarvis, who hit the headlines because she was working as a security guard (‘I shouldn’t have been shamed for taking a job to provide for my kids’, 4 Nov). She shouldn’t feel guilty AT ALL. Studies show children of working mothers go on to have more successful careers and more equal relationships. Going to work provides a strong role model for your kids. Katie is not ruining her kids’ lives by paying the bills. She doesn’t need to drag the chains of guilt along behind her – nor does any working mum.…

Gen Z’s backchat to baby boomers has bite “There’s a new put-down on the block – a Gen Z expression that sums up the weariness they feel when baby boomers condescend to them. (For the confused, Gen Z-ers were born between 1995 and 2015 and grew up on social media. Oh, you knew that? See, it’s not just the under-30s who get patronised...) ‘OK Boomer’ is the phrase and it’s used in response to elders who just don’t know how hard it is to be young, man. Admittedly, not all Boomers are to blame for the planet going up in flames, but Gen Z will live with the consequences, never buy a house, work until 105 and still get called lazy snowflakes. So let them have their comeback, OK Boomer?…

put your phone away: i’m not ready for my close-up

I AM MID CARDIO circuit, burpee-ing like fury, hurling my knackered body towards a mat saturated with my own sweat, boinging back up with an attempted flourish of an end-jump, then – Oh God! Back down again, then UP, my heart hatcheting my chest, my breath: jagged and grasping, blood pulsing so loudly in my ears I grow convinced I won’t be able to hear my trainer when he finally tells me I can stop, so instead, I look desperate askance at him – can it be over? Can it be now? – which is when I realise the mother** cker is filming me like some peeping Tom fitness perv. ‘Don’t stop!’ he yells, simultaneously whacking inane stickers over the iPhone evidence of my near-death exertions and posting the vid on…
