It’s become fashion’s biggest event, eclipsing any catwalk show or awards night red carpet, and this year’s Met Gala in New York most certainly did not disappoint. When it comes to mums, I’ve been pr etty darn lucky to be blessed with one of the best. She may be mor e of a mini-me version of myself rather than the other way around (she’s a seriously teeny-tiny lady – particularly if I wear heels ar ound her!), but if I’ve managed to inherit even half her compassion and empathy I’d be pr oud as punch. Mum has a social calendar I’d find dif ficult to keep up with, and in her early seventies (sorry for outing your age, Mum!), she’ s far better at Pilates than me – and, dare I say it, clocks up more kilometr es than me each week, thanks to her walking club. Her parents have described her as a “joy from heaven”, and that’s exactly what Princess Charlotte looks like in this gorgeous photo, released by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to celebrate her second birthday last week. The snap, which was taken by her mum Kate at their Kensington Palace home in April, shows just how much the little royal has grown since we last glimpsed her on Christmas Day. Time has always been the most precious thing Pippa Wetzell and her mum Carol can give each other. Both have super-busy lives. Pippa is mum to three young children and co-host of TVNZ 1’s Fair Go, while Carol is a top real estate agent on Auckland’s North Shore, as well as being a grandmother of nine.
