Ten years ago, I was seeing my GP about a head cold when I finally remember ed to ask about a mole on my back. From what I could see (which is always tricky when you can’t actually get a closeup look yourself), it didn’t look quite like any of the others, but it kept slipping my mind. Thankfully , as soon as my GP took a look, she assured me it was harmless, but her tone changed when she pointed out another one close by . I was quickly booked in to have it removed. Ever since then, I’ve started regularly visiting a specialist to officially do the checking for me – I’m obviously no expert, so why did I spend years thinking I could check them myself? For…
