Meghan and Harry announced the name of their son after first running it past the Queen, as a courtesy. Archie and Harrison were completely unexpected choices – neither name has royal connections, although Harrison could be considered to represent “Harry’s son”. “I don’t think any one of us saw these names coming,” says Joe Little, the managing editor of Majesty magazine. Archie means genuine, bold or brave and, while originally shortened from Archibald, is now used as a name on its own. Harrison is a totally new name for the royal family. He won’t have a royal title.
